Brandon Fey ’27 will serve as editor-in-chief for The Gettysburgian in the 2026-27 academic year for its 129th volume. Sarah Daniels ’27 will work as managing editor for the year. They are succeeding Ella Prieto ’26 and Sophie Lange ’26, who graduated last month.
Fey is a history and international affairs double major with minors in French and economics. He previously worked as the News Editor of The Gettysburgian for two years. Additionally, he is also a Civil War Institute Fellow, a reviewer for the Gettysburg College Journal of the Civil War Era and works as a Peer Research Mentor in the Musselman Library. He also serves as the Director of Scraps to Soil Inc., a nonprofit corporation that organizes the repurposing of food waste in the Gettysburg area.
“I am greatly honored to serve as the next editor-in-chief of The Gettysburgian. After having written for publication since my first year, I am eager to use my experience to lead The Gettysburgian to the best of my ability,” stated Fey. “I am immensely fortunate to have had the opportunity to serve on our editorial board with my predecessors, Laken Franchetti ’24, Vincent DiFonzo ’25, and especially Ella Prieto ’26. I intend to build off of the foundation of excellence they have created, and to follow their examples to expand our coverage and increase our reach across campus. I believe in the impact of local journalism, and am looking forward to advancing our mission of providing objective and meaningful reporting to the Gettysburg community.”
Daniels is a double major in history and political science. She has previously worked for The Gettysburgian as the news editor, content manager, and as a staff writer. She is also the Vice President of Operations and Director of Chapter Finances for her sorority Sigma Sigma Sigma, Treasurer for Order of Omega and a Community Advisor for the Office of Campus Life.
“I cannot wait to continue with the Gettysburgian in the role of managing editor. This organization was the first I joined freshman year, and I have enjoyed every second,” shared Daniels. “The Gettysburgian has given me many chances to get involved on campus. Leading it alongside Brandon [Fey] my senior year is a very exciting opportunity.”
