The Gettysburgian is fully operated by a staff of students, who retain full editorial control over the publication’s operations. The editorial board for the 2026–27 academic year is listed below. Gettysburg College students, alumni, faculty, and staff are encouraged to contact section editors with story ideas, or send them to Editor-in-Chief Brandon Fey at feybr01@gettysburg.edu for consideration.

Editor-in-Chief, Brandon Fey ’27
Brandon Fey serves as the editor-in-chief of The Gettysburgian. He has previously worked as news editor and assistant news editor. Brandon has majors in history and international & global studies with minors in French and economics. On campus, he works as a peer research mentor in the Musselman Library and as a peer learning associate for the history and French departments. He is also a Fielding fellow with the Eisenhower Institute, a Civil War Institute Fellow, an associate editor of the Gettysburg College Journal of the Civil War Era and is the founder and director of the Scraps to Soil Inc. nonprofit corporation that organizes community composting in the Gettysburg area. In addition, Brandon is from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, where he writes for the Newspaper Media Group as a freelance journalist.
Managing Editor & Content Manager, Sarah Daniels ’27
Sarah Daniels works as the Managing Editor and Content Manager for the Gettysburgian. Previously, she was the News Editor, Content Manager, and a staff writer for the arts and entertainment section. Sarah is a history and political science double major from Cedarburg, Wisconsin. On campus, she is an Office of Campus Life community advisor, a Peer Learning Associate for the Political Science department, the Treasurer of Order of Omega, and the Vice President of Operations and Director of Chapter Finance for her sorority, Sigma Sigma Sigma. In her free time, Sarah enjoys shopping, collecting stamps, crafting, and cooking.
News Editor, Celena Glaghassi ’29
Celena Glaghassi serves as the News Editor for the Gettysburgian; previously the Assistant News Editor. Celena is a physics and mathematics double major from Aleppo, Syria. On campus, she is a student assistant in the English Department, a server in plank basement, and the public relations & communications manager for her sorority, Sigma Sigma Sigma. Off-campus, Celena works as a server at Honeybee Restaurant in Gettysburg. In her free time, she likes to spend time with her friends and play Jackbox with her roommates.
Arts & Entertainment Editor, Ainsley Green ’27
Ainsley Green ’27 serves as the Arts & Entertainment editor, and has been a staff writer for the section for three years. Ainsley is a double major in English with a Writing Concentration and Music (piano) from Damascus, Maryland. On campus, she is involved as Vice President, Membership of Sigma Alpha Iota, a member of Sigma Tau Delta, a RASD student assistant at Musselman Library, a Music Ambassador for Admissions, Senior Class Representative of the Bullets Marching Band, and she performs in various Sunderman Conservatory ensembles, including the Wind Symphony and Concert Choir. In her free time, she loves to read, practice piano, do art projects,
and hang out with her friends.
Director of Photography, Grace Jurchak ’27
Grace Jurchak is the Director of Photography for the Gettysburgian and has been on the team since her freshman year. She is an Art History with Museum Studies major and an Anthropology minor. While not taking photos, Grace works at the Schmucker Art Gallery, Musselman Library, and Theater Department on campus. In her free time, she enjoys the “grandma hobbies”: drinking tea, mending clothes, going to the theater, reading books, and making all sorts of fun crafts!
Sports Editor, Emerson Hall ’28
Emerson Hall serves as the Sports Editor for The Gettysburgian. Emerson is a business, organizations, and management major with an English minor. On campus, he is a tight end on the football team, works in the athletic communications department, and is a member of Sigma Alpha Epsilon. In his free time, Emerson likes to play music with his friends.
Opinions Editor, Omer Shamil ’27
Omer Shamil has served as The Gettysburgian’s Opinions Editor since his junior year. Originally from Islamabad, Pakistan, he studies Economics and Public Policy. On campus, Omer is a Leadership Educator with the Garthwait Leadership Center, Senior Class President, and a Career Ambassador with the Center for Career Engagement. He is also involved with Omicron Delta Epsilon and Pi Alpha Alpha. In his free time, he enjoys going on walks, spending time with friends, and watching movies.
Social Media Manager, Jenna Lanza ’28
Jenna Lanza serves as the Social Media Manager for the Gettysburgian, and this is her second year on the team. She is a Communication Studies major and Cinema & Media Studies and English minor from northern New Jersey. On campus, Jenna works as a staff member in the Athletic Communications Department, as well as off-campus at Presidents Coffee. In her spare time, she loves reading, listening to music, and trying new coffee shops.
