As a food critic one does not eat, we simply taste. A bite of food is not something to be hastily swallowed but rather slowly enjoyed. Like sitting in a symphony hall, the duty of a critic is merely to sit back and let the process take over them and allow the emotions and spirit of the food to guide their taste buds.

The other day I strolled into the fine dining establishment known as the Lincoln Diner. Here one can enjoy the most classic Americana dishes all whilst enjoying the atmosphere of small-town America and being served by the friendliest of staff. I sat down in my formal attire and felt a craving for some of the world’s most luxurious food, oysters. Being the high society establishment that it is, the diner indeed has a Fried Oyster Sandwich one can order. This delicacy comes with chips and pickle slices.

Served on an elegant kaiser roll the sandwich came out hot and fresh. As I took my first bite I felt transformed to a simpler time. My tastebuds were taken in hand on a journey through the sea. One could taste the openness of the ocean and the vast freedoms you could enjoy being swayed along the waters. The delicious hot seafood crunch harkened feelings of nostalgia. I was transplanted into a time where there was no suffering; Halal was $5 a box, Club Penguin was online, and the library was 24 hours. These feelings brought tears to my eyes. I finished my meal in a timely manner, paid my bill and strolled outside. As I gazed into the sky, I felt the warmth of the sun that echoed the warmth the meal made me feel inside.

My experience was a wonderful one and one that this critic highly rates and recommends.

However, my tummy hurt afterwards.
