Fortenbaugh F17

By Musselman Library

Every year Musselman Library offers two paid internships to two Gettysburg College students during the spring semester. These are great opportunities for students who are considering a career in libraries, information science, archives, or museums. The internships are available in two Musselman Library departments: Research & Instruction and Special Collections & College Archives.

The Research & Instruction Intern will:

Help people sort through information to find exactly what they are looking for, while gaining real-world experience in librarianship and information science before applying to graduate school. This position is open to all majors.

The Special Collections & College Archives Intern will:

Learn how to care for historic documents, photographs, and artifacts, and process a collection, complete with creating a finding aid for researchers. This position is also open to all majors.

Both internships involve six to eight hours/week ($8.50/hour) during the Spring 2018 semester. The deadline for applications is Friday, November 10th. If you have any questions, please contact Mallory Jallas at mjallas@gettysburg.edu for the Research & Instruction position or Amy Lucadamo at alucadam@gettysburg.edu for the Special Collections & College Archives position.

If you would like to learn more about library internships, stop by the library’s CUB Table on Monday, November 6th, 11:00-1:00 p.m.
