Last Saturday, Gettysburg hosted the Centennial Conference Championship for men’s and women’s cross country.
For the men, the Bullets finished in 5th place. This was the team’s best finish since 2019. First-year Asher Leuzzi ’29 had a great race, finishing with a time of 26:45.1, leading the Bullets runners. The Bullets scored 174 points and they are optimistic moving into their next meet.
“The men’s team is getting hot and we’ve got a lot of momentum going into regionals,” said runner Matt Kurek ’28.
The runners advancing to regionals are Leuzzi, Colin Carpenter ’28, Mick Lorenger ’26, Maddon McNicholas ’27, Jack Rogers ’29, Jack Taylor ’29 and Baxter Merriam ’29.
The women’s team finished in second place, scoring 85 points. All five of the scoring runners finished in the top 30.
Rowe Crawford ’26 had the Bullets’ best finish with a time of 22:34.2, landing her in 18th place. Elyse Tancini was right behind her, finishing 19th with a 22:36.2.
The Bullets will race again on Saturday, Nov. 15 at Big Spring High School for NCAA DIII Regionals.
