On Monday, Provost Jamila Bookwala announced a partnership between Gettysburg College and Towson University through the Graduate Pathway Program. Qualified Gettysburg students, determined by GPA thresholds and pre-requisite coursework, can receive guaranteed admission into more than 20 master’s programs at Towson University, including nursing, forensic science, professional writing and athletic training. Students can access streamlined admission with no application fee, an exclusive tuition discount as a continuously enrolled out-of-state student, along with advising and personalized support.

“Our new collaboration with Towson seeks to empower Gettysburg students to build upon their liberal arts education and gain advanced knowledge and skills in demand by today’s employers,” wrote Bookwala. “As they transition into these dynamic graduate programs, our students will position themselves to pursue lives of impact—serving communities and driving progress in a wide range of public and private sectors.”

  1. If I had a lousy GPA combined with a lifestyle major and was shuddering at my job prospects, I would welcome the opportunity to be guaranteed a spot in a mediocre graduate school simply to postpone the inevitable.

Towson State accepts 83% of its undergtraduate applications so what’s the big
deal of a guaranteed acceptance for graduate school?
