Students and Alumni Recognized at 2025 Spring Honors Day

Students and alumni were recognized at the annual Spring Honors Day ceremony earlier this afternoon, ahead of tomorrow’s commencement ceremony for the class of 2025. 

First, Cheryl Walker Davis ’75 presented the Distinguished Alumni Awards. The awards were presented to Celia Overby ’02, Robert J. Ferrara ’75, Robert P. Edwards ’79 and Gary W. Boguski ’74. 

Following this, Provost Jamila Bookwala recognized students inducted into Phi Beta Kappa.

Bookwala then introduced Associate Provost for Faculty Affairs Michelle Schmidt and Associate Provost for Academic Affairs Jeanne Hamming to present student awards.

Vincent DiFonzo ’25 serves as Editor-in-Chief for the Gettysburgian. Vince is an IGS international affairs and history major with a political science minor. He served as Content Manager in Spring 2023 and as Opinions Editor and Lead Copy Editor for the Fall 2023 semester, before studying abroad in Berlin in Spring 2024. On-campus, he is the house leader for Public Policy House, an editor for the Gettysburg Social Science Review, a participant in Eisenhower Institute programs and Managing Editor of the Eisenhower Institute's Ike’s Anvil. Outside the Gettysburgian, Vince enjoys discovering new music, geography and traveling.
