Gettysburg Men’s Golf Takes On Wynlakes Invitational

Following the first round of the Wynlakes Invitational in Montgomery, Alabama on Mon., Apr. 1, Gettysburg’s men’s golf team, consisting of Cam Deiuliis ’24, Daniel Suter ’25, Christian Deussing ’26, Patrick Kilcoyne ’26, and Drew Hurley ’24, sat tied for 11th place out of 14 competing teams.

They finished the first round with a combined score of 306, which was 27 points off the host and leader of the tournament, Huntingdon College, who are ranked 13th in the latest Golfweek Division III Coaches Poll. The tournament attracted many other nationally competitive programs as well.

Following the second and final round, Gettysburg moved up and finished in 9th place, scoring 304 points. Suter led the bullets overall, placing 12th in the individual leaderboard. He posted a first-round score of 73 and a score of 72 in the second round, which was an even par, and boasted two birdies.

Deiuliis followed Suter and posted a round of 78, a round of 76, and tied for 38th on the individual leaderboard. Kilcoyne placed 51st with an overall score of 154, but he improved by two strokes from the first and second rounds. Deussing and Hurley rounded out the placements for the Bullets at 60th and 68th with scores of 161 and 165 respectively.

Huntingdon College won the tournament with a score of 571, and their B-team followed in second place with a score of 581. Hampden-Sydney College, another nationally ranked program, rounded out the top three with a final score of 584.

Gettysburg returns to action at the Hershey Cup in Rochester, New York on Apr. 7 and 8.
