When Gettysburg Smoothie Co. opened its first location on York Street in May of 2022, it quickly became a staple for Gettysburg community members and students alike. This rapid success was followed by Gettysburg Smoothie Co. opening a second location at the Gettysburg Outlets in April this year.

The closure of The Dive in the Jaeger Center left a void on campus concerning dining options. Executive Director of Auxiliary Services Mike Bishop was highly instrumental in bringing Gettysburg Smoothie Co. to the Jaeger Center. This location recently opened on Oct. 6 with much excitement.

Bishop explained, “In Dining Services, we are always looking for ways to enhance the student experience, and we thought the Gettysburg Smoothie Co. had a good program of fruit smoothies and açaí bowls that would bring some good options to campus.”

At Gettysburg Smoothie Co.’s location on campus, students are able to select from an array of smoothies, along with the option to add a booster such as protein powder or caffeine. Additionally, the bowls are entirely customizable. Students can select their base, their desired fruit, and drizzles on top, like peanut butter or caramel sauce. While the açaí base is most traditional, another popular option is the coconut base.

The ability to use meal swipes, dining dollars or a credit card has made the Gettysburg Smoothie Co. accessible to students of all class years. A meal swipe used on a smoothie includes the addition of a booster, and a meal swipe used on a bowl allows for three fruit selections and two sauce drizzles.

Gettysburg Smoothie Co.’s new location has been met with great reviews from students, with many enjoying the additional dining option and the variety on campus aside from Servo and Bullet Hole.

Bella Hoffman ’23 said, “Adding Gettysburg Smoothie Co. to our meal plans has added more variety to campus food. It has also been nice to have access to ‘off-campus’ food with a meal swipe, which is something students consistently have asked for.”

Ilana Subramanya ’24 echoed Hoffman’s sentiments: “I love Gettysburg Smoothie Co.! The fresh smoothies and açaí bowls are a great pick me up, and it’s so awesome that we can use our meal plan. It is definitely one of my favorite spots on campus now!”

One of the biggest appeals of Gettysburg Smoothie Co.’s location on campus is the greater accessibility of healthy and freshly made food. Meg Rayner ’26 likes this aspect of the dining location, as well as the option to use dining dollars.

“I am so happy there is a healthier option on campus that I can use my dining dollars on,” Rayner explained. “I think that I usually don’t get enough healthy eating in, but now I worry less about it.”

Ultimately, the addition of Gettysburg Smoothie Co. to the campus has filled many students’ desires for more dining options and choices aside from Bullet Hole and Servo.
