On Friday, it was announced by the Office of Student Activities and Greek Life (OSAGL) that the campus celebrity coined “Singing Bike Man” would headline Gettysburg College’s Springfest. The news comes after the Student Senate’s mismanagement of funds this past year, which has led to fewer resources to pull from for this big event.

“While this was not our plan, we are happy that an entertaining show will still be able to occur,” said the Director of the Office of Student Activities and Greek Life (OSAGL) and Student Senate Advisor Jon Allen.

The Senate Executive Board also proclaimed their excitement for the headliner, with Treasurer Dylan Levine ’24 saying “The Senate is happy that we were able to fund a portion of Springfest so OSAGL could hire Singing Bike Man. While I know some senators and students wanted Fetty Wap, I think they will enjoy this as well.”

Students of Gettysburg had mixed responses.

“I have no idea who Singing Bike Man is,” said Trish Kelly ’23. “Will he be on a bike for the performance?”

Jake Anthony ’25 had a different point of view.

“I have been a fan of his work since the early Yik Yak postings!” he exclaimed. “Whatever he does, I know it will be great.”

Due to Singing Bike Man being discovered on Yik Yak, the app is planning to sponsor his performance. This will include a Yik Yak poster for his stage and random throwings of Yik Yak socks to the audience.

Singing Bike Man has declined to comment due to his hectic schedule leading up to his headlining of Springfest, but his press manager expressed that he is in good spirits and prepared to put on a great show.
