Our Staff 2024-25
The Gettysburgian is fully operated by a staff of students, who retain full editorial control over the publication’s operations. The staff for the 2024–25 academic year is listed below. Gettysburg College students, alumni, faculty and staff are encouraged to contact section editors with story ideas, or send them to difovi01@gettysburg.edu, for consideration.
If you’d like to write for the Gettysburgian, please contact the respective section editors or fill out our interest form. All students are encouraged to join the Gettysburgian staff. Editor-in-Chief, Vincent DiFonzo ’25
Vincent DiFonzo serves as Editor-in-Chief. Vince is an IGS international affairs and history major and political science minor. He joined The Gettysburgian in the fall 2022 semester, writing for news and opinions, before taking over as content manager in spring 2023 and later as Opinions Editor and Lead Copy Editor. Vince participated in the Dow Jones News Fund program and interned at Stars and Stripes in Washington D.C. On-campus, he works as Managing Editor of the Eisenhower Institute’s Ike’s Anvil and for ResEd as house leader for Public Policy House. He is also a member of Phi Alpha Theta and a frequent participant in EI programs. Outside the Gettysburgian, Vince enjoys discovering new music, geography, traveling and catching up on the news.
Managing Editor (Fall), Ella Prieto ’26
Ella Prieto serves as the Managing Editor. Previously, she worked as News Editor, Assistant News Editor and as a staff writer for the news and arts & entertainment sections. Ella is a double major in public policy and women, gender, and sexuality studies with a writing minor. On campus, Ella volunteers with the Casa Swim program, works as an It’s On Us Fellow in the Office of Sexual Respect and Title IX and serves president of the Panhellenic Council. Outside the Gettysburgian, She loves to read and keep up with celebrity drama in her free time.
Managing Editor (Spring) & Lead Copy Editor (Fall), Katie Lauriello ’25
Katie Lauriello serves as the Lead Copy Editor for The Gettysburgian in the fall semester and will take over as Managing Editor in the spring. They previously served as a news copy editor and staff writer. Katie is an English major with a minor in business. They spent the fall 2023 semester studying abroad in London and Lancaster, England. Katie also sings in the concert choir on campus. They enjoy reading and traveling in their spare time.
Magazine Editor (Fall), Zach Brooks ’24
Zach Brooks serves as the Magazine Editor. He previously served as Social Media Manager in fall 2023 and also writes for the features section. He is an English major with a writing concentration and music minor. He is also a member of Sigma Tau Delta, the English honors society, and the English department’s Student Advisory Council.
Director of Photography (Fall), Will Oehler ’26
Will Oehler serves as Director of Photography. Previously, he worked as a staff photographer and a copy editor. William is a French major with double minors in art history and cinema media studies. He currently works as an outdoor facilitator for the Garthwait Leadership Center and as a TIPS Supervisor at The Attic.
News Editor, Brandon Fey ’27
Brandon Fey works as the News Editor. He previously served as the Assistant News Editor and is also a staff writer for the features sections. Brandon is a history and international and global studies double major with a French minor. In addition to the Gettysburgian, he serves on the executive board of the John Quincy Adams Society and is a 2024-2025 Civil War Institute Fellow. Outside of the classroom, he enjoys historical reenacting, beekeeping and volunteering at a local farm.
Opinions Editor (Fall), Terra Hobler ’26
Terra Hobler serves as Opinions Editor. Terra was a writer in the opinions section during their first year. He is a political science and public policy double major with a concentration in environmental studies. They’re also involved with the eSports club. Terra loves to listen to people’s perspectives on any event in the news — controversial or otherwise.
Arts & Entertainment Editor & Lead Copy Editor (Spring), Kenzie Smith ’26
Kenzie Smith is the Arts & Entertainment editor for The Gettysburgian and will also take over as Lead Copy Editor in the spring. Previously, she served as a staff writer for the news and arts & entertainment sections. Kenzie is an English major with a writing concentration originally hailing from Everett, Pennsylvania. Outside the Gettysburgian, Kenzie is a tour guide for the admissions office, a contributing editor for The Mercury and a user services assistant at Musselman Library. In her free time, you can find Kenzie listening to music, writing poetry and hanging out with friends.
Sports Editor, Owen Kutlu ’27
Owen Kutlu serves as Sports Editor for The Gettysburgian. Hailing from Mendham, New Jersey, Owen studies business, organizations and management, with a minor in economics. During his first year, he served as a staff writer for the sports section. Outside of the Gettysburgian, he is a member of the men’s tennis team. In his free time, he enjoys playing and watching sports, listening to music and hanging out with friends.
Features Editor, Sophie Lange ’26
Sophie Lange is the Features Editor for the Gettysburgian. Previously, she served as News Editor, Assistant News Editor and as a staff writer. Sophie is an environmental studies, Spanish and public policy triple major from northern Maryland. On campus, she is the President of Gamma Sigma Sigma and represents the Newman Association on the Interfaith Council. In her free time, Sophie enjoys spending time outdoors, baking and writing.
Content Manager, Sarah Daniels ’27
Sarah Daniels works as Content Manager team for The Gettysburgian, in addition to writing for the arts and entertainment section as a staff writer. Sarah is a history and political science double major from Cedarburg, Wisconsin. On campus, she is a ResEd community advisor, a campus ambassador for the Women’s Network, and the Spirit Coordinator for the class of 2027. In her free time, Sarah enjoys shopping, collecting stamps, reading and cooking.
Assistant Magazine Editor, Cassidy Haines ’26
Cassidy Haines works as Assistant Magazine Editor for the Gettysburgian. Additionally, she is a copy editor for the news, features and arts and entertainment sections. She was previously the social media manager and has written for opinions and A&E. Cassidy is an English major with a writing concentration and women, gender, and sexuality studies minor. On campus, she works in the English department as a student administrative assistant and serves as the Fiction Genre Head for the Mercury. Additionally, she is a member of the international English honor society Sigma Tau Delta and member of Sigma Sigma Sigma sorority where she currently serves as honor council chair.
