OSAGL Hosts Spring Semester Activities Fair

On Wednesday, the Office of Student Activities and Greek Life (OSAGL) held the Spring Semester Activities Fair in the College Union Building Ballroom from 4 to 6 p.m. There were over 85 clubs and organizations in attendance for students to learn about.
Students entered the fair through CUB 126, which housed all of the student offices, such as the Center for Public Service and the Garthwait Leadership Center. When students arrived, they received slips of paper for club representatives to sign.
Students were encouraged to visit nine tables in the fair and have the representatives at the tables sign the slip of paper they were given. Once students collected nine signatures, they could put their name in a raffle for a $25 Amazon gift card.
To navigate the fair, OSAGL projected a map onto the overhead screen near the ballroom’s stage. The map, along with other advertisements for clubs and organizations, helped students to find the tables they wanted to visit.
Both students who were looking for clubs and those trying to recruit for their clubs commented on how much they enjoyed the fair.
“I think the Activities Fair is a great way for students to reach out and meet new groups of people in areas that they may not have known,” stated attendee Colin Goodwin ’26. “It’s especially great that we have it at the beginning of the spring semester and not just at the beginning of the year.”
Christine Lombardino ’23, who is a member of the Italian Club, explained how useful the fair is for new clubs.
“I find that the activity fair is super helpful because it allows a safe space for first-years to come and see their options. Oftentimes they don’t know what exists, and so it’s a great way to showcase everything that is happening on campus,” said Lombardino.
GECO representative Kayla Tursack ’25 echoed Lombardino’s thoughts, stating, “The activities fair is good for our club, specifically because we are trying our best to raise awareness about the environment. Since there are so many people here we can bring that attention to some really important issues that are going on today. It also helps with signups and outreach.”
