The student body elected Miranda Zamora ’23 to be the next president of Student Senate and Geoffrey Meadville ’25 to serve as vice president. Zamora ran unopposed and Meadville defeated fellow Vice Presidential Candidate Rocco Rodrigues ’23.

Zamora, a political science major and Spanish minor, currently serves as the vice president of Student Senate, a position she took following the impeachment and removal of Colin Hughes ’23. She has served as the chair of the College Life Advisory Committee, wherein she petitioned for Wellness Days during the COVID-19 pandemic and facilitated ongoing conversations between students and the administration regarding COVID policies.

“I was a little upset that I ran unopposed, but with that said, I am thrilled to be taking over as the president of Student Senate. I look forward to working with admin and students to address the issues that we see on campus!” Zamora said.

Meadville will be completing his first year in Senate at the completion of the semester. During this time, he served as a senator-at-large and co-chair of the Sustainability Committee. He is a political science major.

“I’m excited to work with Miranda next year and look forward to making Senate a better working institution for the student body while upholding Gettysburg College values,” Meadville said.
