The Entire Student Senate Impeaches Themselves (April Fools)

At Monday’s Senate meeting, the unexpected happened. Senators moved to impeach every member of Student Senate, including committee chairs, senators, and the entire executive board.

This news comes on the heels of a number of impeachment trials over the past academic year. This time, the reasoning behind the impeachments was simple: Senate must start fresh, and the only way to proceed with fair discourse and become more productive is to eliminate the entire voting body and leadership of the organization.

“I, for one, found that this was the only possible solution to our ongoing problems as an organization,” one senator said. “Maybe if we build up from the bottom we’ll start getting more done!”

With the entire Senate impeached and removed, there is only one person left: Senate Advisor Jon Allen.

“I guess I’ll just sit here in CUB 260 alone every Monday from 7 to 8 p.m. until the next election cycle,” Allen said.
