COVID Update: Masking Policy

By Laken Franchetti, Assistant News Editor

An email was sent to the campus community on Tuesday, Feb. 22 regarding an update to the COVID masking policies.  A recent assessment of campus conditions has led to an adjustment of the indoor masking policy.  Masks are now only required in classrooms and labs, at events and meetings where the host has requested masks, and at indoor athletic competition and performance venues.  This new policy went into effect on Wednesday, Feb. 23.

If not fully vaccinated, a mask must be worn in all indoor locations except residence halls and private offices.  This includes students who have vaccine exemptions or who have not received a booster.  Masks are also required for a 10-day period after a positive COVID-19 test.

The college does encourage students to make the decision with masking that is right for them, even if they are fully vaccinated.

This masking update to the COVID guidelines does not change student testing, visiting, or quarantine policies.  Employee testing has also not been affected.
