Retired English Professor Mary Margaret Stewart Passed Away

Retired English Professor Mary Margaret Stewart passed away on Oct. 10. Stewart taught at Gettysburg for her entire career, with 37 years contributed before her retirement in 1996.

During her time at Gettysburg, Stewart helped to create the Women, Gender, and Sexuality Studies Program and The Gettysburg Review. Her legacy remains within these programs she pioneered.

Outside of her academic endeavors, Stewart loved literature and art. She passionately supported the Schmucker Art Gallery.
