On Oct. 4, 2021, former NBC Washington Correspondent, Tracie Potts, will join the Eisenhower Institute as its new Executive Director. In an email to the Gettysburg community, President Iuliano welcomed Potts and commended her experience.

Potts has served as a reporter in D.C. for nearly 30 years covering the Hill, Whitehouse, Supreme Court, and national policy issues. Previously, she worked with the National Association of Black Journalists and the News Literacy Project as an instructor. She also serves on numerous boards and advisory councils.

“I look forward to sharing my knowledge, experience, and vision to deepen this work,” said Potts, “leveraging the proximity [to] our nation’s capital to give students a platform to explore their passions and impact our world.”

At Northwestern University, Potts earned her Bachelors’s and Master’s degrees in journalism. The Medill School of Journalism awarded her the Newton B. Minow Prize in Communication and the Harrington Award.

The Eisenhower Institute extended their thanks to the students, trustees, and faculty who aided in the process of hiring the new Executive Director.
