On Monday, May 17 at 10:30 a.m., the Class of 2021 will begin the 186th Commencement.
The ceremony will take place on Memorial Field, and will be live streamed on the college’s website or on YouTube. The program is also available online.
Prior to arriving at Memorial Field, seniors walked through Penn Hall to round out the tradition of processing through the building at Opening Convocation during orientation.
During the ceremony, College Marshal and History Professor Michael J. Birkner ’72 will lead the processional, Brittney Sedgewick ’21 will sing the National Anthem, and Class President Emma Padrick ’21 will post the class flag.
After remarks from Interim Chaplain Elizabeth Eckman and President Bob Iuliano, Anna Cincotta ’21 will give the senior address.
Honorary degrees will be conferred to Jean Driscoll, Marian Wright Edelman, and Michael Brown.
The Commencement Address will be given by Senior Advisor and Co-founder of City Year Michael Brown.
Associate Provosts Jennifer Bloomquist and Darren Glass, and Vice Provost Jack Ryan will present the degree candidates alongside President Iuliano.
President of the Alumni Board of Directors Brian Orsinger ’01 will give an alumni association greeting, President Iuliano will give a charge to the graduates, Bridget Kennedy ’21 will be a soloist for the Alma Mater, and Chaplain Eckman will give a closing Benediction.
