Humbly proclaimed as simply, “Two dudes sharing their love for everything on the culinary spectrum,” the Foods Brews & Booze Instagram account is an up and coming foodie heaven created by sophomores Nate Rell ’22 and Daniel Jones ’22.

Rell and Jones both have experience in the food service industry. Rell is an experienced barista who has worked in Commons and at the Starbucks on the Square in Gettysburg; Jones is a trained bartender, and he has taken on shifts at Gettysburg’s Federal Pointe Inn during the school year.

Having a passion for their work and their products, these two friends are getting creative and taking on their social media project with enthusiasm.

“It’s a project focused around celebrating all things related to food and drink, whether that be something we make ourselves [or] something a local place is doing” said Jones and Rell.

These days, the pair have been making more recipes and Instagram posts from their respective homes, and their work has been well-received so far.

“In these times, staying connected with people is great for alleviating some of the feelings of isolation or loneliness that are felt” said Rell and Jones. “Also, food and beverage are very comforting things and almost anyone can relate to it so sharing it is very easy and it’s a good outlet for taking our minds off of things”

Jones and Rell hope to continue exploring local businesses and supporting their local communities in the future, but for now, their home brews and booze suggestions are inspiring their many faithful followers.
