Great Work from Home, Day 10: Sunsets and Servo Cookies

By Lauren Hand, Magazine Editor

In Week Two of our Great Work from Home initiative, we asked for your best sunset photos, whether taken in Gettysburg or in your own backyard. As the sun sets in Gettysburg, we wanted to share this compilation of the top nine submissions we received. Enjoy nine sunsets (well, eight sunsets and a sunrise) on us.

We are thrilled to announce that next weekend we will be live streaming a reading of Apotheosis, written by Madison Cramer ‘19 and directed by Katherine Scott ‘21. The play, starring Hannah Kolarik ‘20, Isaac Briggs ‘20, and Gauri Mangala ‘21, was originally going to be performed at this year’s Indie Fest. Find more details on our Facebook page, and join us live on Facebook Saturday, April 11 at 7:00 p.m. ET!

In addition, we’ll be introducing a new Great Work from Home series this week, featuring notes of reflection and gratitude from the Class of 2020. You can look forward to the first tomorrow, from senior Jessica Greenman ‘20.

Finally, we are issuing a new challenge for the week! We are asking participants to make their best attempt at Servo cookies, and to submit photos of their results and (almost) Servo cookie recipes here. If we are lucky, perhaps one of you has cracked the code!

As always, we are still welcoming your hometown spotlights, good times at Gettysburg photos, and original playlists (see links at the bottom of this update). We hope you will join us as we enter Week Three, and that our updates can provide a meaningful way for us to begin our days together.

Remember, you can take us out of Gettysburg, but you can’t take Gettysburg out of us!
