Student Senate Holds Brief Meeting, Affinity Group Leaders Appointed

The Monday, Feb. 3 meeting of Student Senate saw the official appointment of the Spring 2020 Affinity Group Leaders. The leaders are as follows:

Academic: Taden Welsh ‘21

Arts and Music: Garrett Adams ‘22

Cultural: Alma Contreras ‘22

Social: Lauren Browning ‘22

Political: Sydney Kaplan ‘22

Religious: Lucas Toglia ‘22

Service: Hank Hahne ‘22

President Pat McKenna ‘20 announced the appointment of Lauren Dardick ‘22 to chair of the Safety Committee. Garrett Goodwin ‘21 was also appointed to be the co-chair of Academic and Career Affairs after a scheduling conflict with Chandler Wyman ‘21. Vice President Jack Lashendock ‘20 announced a vacancy in a class of 2020 Senator role after the resignation of Jingwei Zhan ‘20.

Senate then saw budgets from the Black Student Union (BSU) and Ski Club. BSU was allotted the full amount of $1255 for Black History Month events and Ski Club was allotted the full amount of $2125 for lift and equipment rentals.

Senate adjourned within an hour after finalizing the small docket by fielding a few student concerns and committee reports. Student Senate will reconvene on Monday, Feb. 10.
