The Office of Sexual Respect and Title IX held a Consent Fair this past Thursday in the College Union Building Lobby to educate students about giving and receiving consent.

For three hours, students made their way through a winding array of stands that offered various consent-related activities.

One of the activities at the event was Consent Bingo. The first question on the checklist was “What is consent,” and students were asked to define what consent means to them and write their answer on a piece of paper to be hung on the wall.

One of the students traversing the stands at the Consent Fair,  “[thought it was] very nice to see the college addressing such an important issue.”

Students were also asked if they wanted a Hershey’s”kiss” at a stand labeled “I Ask for Consent,” played Jeopardy at the LGBTQIA+ table, and put the phone number of the Department of Public Safety into their phones at a DPS booth. One of the tables was also centered around the topic of safe sex. The Victim Witness of Adams County was also in attendance.

Freshmen were able to receive a Charting Your Course credit for the event.

Editor’s Note: A previous version of this article incorrectly identified the Victim Witness of Adams County as being affiliated with the college. There is no such affiliation. (~P. Doscher)
