By Musselman Library

Musselman Library is expanding its internship opportunities for students by offering three paid internships to Gettysburg College students for the spring semester.

If you are considering a career in libraries, information science, archives, or museums these internships provide great opportunities to learn what it’s like. So what are these opportunities?

The Research & Instruction Intern (Fortenbaugh) will help people sort through information to find exactly what they need.

The Special Collections & College Archives Intern (Fortenbaugh) will learn how to care for historic documents, photographs, and artifacts.  The intern will also process a collection and create a finding aid for researchers.

The Technical Services Intern (Dunlap) will learn how the library purchases material and organizes information.

All three internships are open to ALL majors and involve 6-8 hours/week ($8.50/hour) during the Spring Semester 2019.  The deadline for applications is Monday, November 12th.

If you would like to learn more about these opportunities stop by the library table (main floor, Musselman Library) on Wednesday, November 7th, 11-1pm. You can also contact Mallory Jallas at mjallas@gettysburg.edu (Research & Instruction), Amy Lucadamo at alucadm@gettysburg.edu (Special Collections & College Archives), or Klara Shives at kshives@gettysburg.edu (Technical Services).
