As the campus prepares for the closing of the Bullet Hole for renovations, Musselman Library will be adding several food options on the Main Floor to supplement the offerings at the temporary Bullet Hole in the Dining Center.

Grab-and-go sushi, salads, sandwiches and desserts will be available on the Main Floor in the area that currently houses a seating area by the magazines and journals. At the back of the Main Floor, warm foods that do not require a fryer or grill will be available for purchase including slices of pizza, hot dogs and taquitos.

“The warm foods will be similar to the offerings at the 7-11 counter,” noted Dean of the Library Robin Wagner. “Having food choices at the library should make it easier for students who are often hurrying here in the afternoon and evening with to-go items from the Bullet Hole. The one-stop shopping can help save students’ valuable time.”

According to Natalie Hinton, Musselman Library’s Director of User Services, installation of the refrigerated cabinets for grab-and-go foods will occur in June. Counters to hold food warmers and the warmers themselves will be installed in early July. She noted, “This will give us plenty of time to have things up and running for when students return in the fall.”

In addition to the food areas, two cash registers devoted to food sales will be added along the Check Out and Reserves Desk to make food purchasing easier. The checkouts will accept credit and student charges. All of the equipment used in the library will be moved to the new Bullet Hole when renovations are complete.
