The Gettysburg College men’s swim team had an outstanding performance against the strong team from the University of Mary Washington. Leading the Bullets was first-year Adam Dias.

Dias touched first in three individual events, including both breaststroke events. He finished first in the 100-breastroke, 200-breastroke, and 200-indivdual medley. Dias has become the top breastroker for the Bullets with his consistent success over the season.

Dias currently holds the top time of the Centennial Conference in the 200-breastroke. He broke the school record at the Gettysburg Invitational earlier in the season. His school record was almost five seconds faster than the previous record, which had been set back in 2011 by Brian Kaehler. Dias is also second in the conference in both the 100-breastroke and 200-IM.

With his three convincing victories this week, Dias was named the Centennial Conference male swimmer of the week for the first time of his career. Junior Tyler Dougherty has won twice this season and first-year Ogden Leyens has earned the title once for the Bullets.

The Gettysburg men are undefeated on the season, thanks to the continued success of Dias. The Bullets are hoping to capture their seventh consecutive Centennial Conference title coming up this February. Adam Dias is the Athlete of the Week for his contributions to an undefeated men’s swimming team.
