Junior Patrick Santini completed the Gettysburg College men’s soccer season with a hat trick against McDaniel College on Saturday, October 29.

Santini’s three goals in one game was the first hat trick to mark Bullet history in five years. The forward earned all of his three points in the 2nd half, during the 62nd, 66th ad 82nd minute, respectively.

The hat trick brought Santini up to seven goals for the season. This statistic makes him part of a four-way tie for goals in the Centennial Conference and ranks him as the second highest goal scorer on the team. The junior also earned five assists this fall, which ties him as the Bullets’ team leader in this category.

With the regular season completed, Santini sits first both in the conference and on the team for shots, having a total of 69 attempts throughout the Bullets’ 16-game season. Santini also ranks first for Gettysburg in shots-on-goal with 32 respectively.

Santini totaled 19 points this season, which also earns him fourth place recognition in the conference and second for Gettysburg.

The junior scored two game winning goals this season.

The men’s soccer team just missed the playoffs for the 2016 season, but the team leaves a strong mark on the program history. Santini’s success on the field helped to continue the nine-win season streak for the third year in a row along with a winning percentage of about 65% for the first time since 2002.

Santini’s impressive offensive skills earn him this week’s title of Bullet of the Week.
