      • Five Trip Proposal – $11,384
    • Question & Answer
      • How many trips are common?
        • 3 or 4 trips are standard per year, but demand exceeds supply.
      • Is there a way to ensure different students are attending?
        • Yes, those who have never attended, and Freshman and Seniors are prioritized.
      • Are membership dues or fundraisers utilized?
        • No.
      • How is safety handled?
        • All managed by the mountain.
      • Have you considered a fundraiser to offset some of the cost?
        • Yes, but the cost is so large that it is difficult to offset much.
      • Are there other resources to find other funding?
        • No.
      • Have you tried to request aid from the GLC, or similar organizations?
        • Time is of the essence, given that snow is on the ground now, so the timing does not allow at this point.

      • Motion does not pass.

    • Questions & Answers
      • If you cannot get this amount approved, will she still be able to come?
        • It is unclear. YAF will contact alumni and donors to attempt to get the rest of the funding.
      • What is Yeoni Park’s rate?
        • $10,000 – $15,000 for the honorarium.
      • When is the event being hosted?
        • February 25th at 7 PM in CUB 260.
      • Did YAF consider hosting the event in Mara as opposed to CUB?
        • Yes, but there is so much seating it can damage optics.
      • Would YAF consider finding another speaker if not enough funds were acquired?
        • The timing is too close to find another speaker.
      • How many active members does YAF have?
        • 8 – 12 members.
      • Is there any way YAF can consider pricing in the future when seeking speakers?
        • YAF does not have a usual amount of funding that is standard.
      • How many people attended Vince Everett Ellison?
        • Approximately 60 people.
      • Would Yeonmi Park be the only speaker hosted this semester?
        • Yes.
      • Is there a middle-ground budget that would be acceptable?
        • Yes. A middle ground would be great.
      • How much does YAF expect to raise from the national organization?
        • About half of what is not covered by the college will likely be covered by YAF national.
      • Why did the college not yet approve the speaker?
        • Waiting for the number to be put in the contract for funding.
      • How many people do you expect to attend?
        • She is much more famous than past event, so turnout is unclear.
      • Have you considered not including YAF on the posters?
        • College policy requires club name.
      • Could $4,000 ensure the event takes place?
        • Likely.
      • Could a survey take place on expected turnout?
        • Given the time constraints, no.
      • Is YAF willing to switch the location to Mara?
        • It will be considered, and very possible. No definite answer can be given at this point.
