Club Reports & Announcements

  • AOII is hosting Mr. Alpha O on Friday from 6 to 8 PM.
  • Haunting Her Campus is Tuesday from 7 to 9 PM. Glatfelter Lodge is being decorated.
  • Money is being raised for SCAAP through the Center for Public Service, alongside the chocolate bar fundraiser.
  • Lambda Chi Alpha Pumpkin Smash is taking place November 15th.

Student Concerns 

  • Paxton peepholes to look out doors are too high on the doors.
  • Football field has lots of divots and dips.
  • Some showers do not have a spot to hold shower caddies.
    • Remanded to the Opinions Committee.
  • Paxton driers are leaving clothes damp.

Budget Requests 

  • Young Americans for Freedom
    • Requested $3,000 for speaker honorarium.
      • BMC recommended $1,600.
    • The speaker is Vince Everett Ellison. Lodging and transportation is covered by YAF National.
      • Born to sharecroppers in Tennessee, and became a well respected author, and speaker on Fox News and Newsmax.
    • Q&A
      • if you do not acquire funding is there a plan in place?
        • Reaching out to alumni will be the next step if funding is not made.
      • Do you have a plan to reach out to other groups on campus to attend?
        • Yes, postering and virtual posts will be utilized.
      • Have other groups on campus shown interest in the event?
        • Yes, they have spoken with other people on campus who are interested in the event.
      • What role would YAF national have in the event?
        • YAF National has a network that they can contact to attempt to fund the remainder of the event, and that may have to happen through other sources.
      • How was the honorarium of $3,000 decided upon?
        • YAF National determined the amount that Gettysburg would need to raise.
      • How many people do you expect to attend the event?
        • Attendance is dependent on if word can be spread, given that posters are often torn down.
      • Are students or locals the target market for the event?
        • Students.
      • Where will the event be held?
        • CUB 260.
      • How was the event funded last year, given that the budget was not passed?
        • The representative was not on the Executive Board, so he cannot speak to that.
      • Why has YAF not been in attendance for most meeting
        • The YAF Board has been trying to figure out for the first few weeks who could attend Senate.
    • Motion to Approve $1,600 budget.
