On Wednesday, the Gettysburg College women’s lacrosse team defeated the College of New Jersey 14-8. A game that started off slow exploded into a dominant win. The Bullets now have a record of 9-1, after another win against Muhlenberg on Saturday.

A total of 14 goals were scored by the Bullets during the Wednesday game. Gaining four goals was attack Nina Marra ’26. Julie Breedveld ’26 and Emily Crane ’25 both scored three goals. Breedveld and Marra had the most shots on goal with five each. A total of 23 shots on goal were allowed by the Bullets.

While the Gettysburg offense was extremely aggressive, their defense held TCNJ to an incredible margin. Only eight goals were scored by the Lions and 14 shots on goal were taken. The Bullets’ goalie, Juliette deVarenne ’25, played for the full sixty minutes and had eight allowed goals and six saves.

There were many turnovers in this game. The Lions totaled 20 while the Bullets totaled 16. Despite winning by such a large margin, Gettysburg had a high number of turnovers, although lower in comparison to TCNJ.

The Bullets were able to start their winning streak back up and defeat the College of New Jersey at home last Wednesday. They played an aggressive game and displayed why they are ranked fourth.

The Bullets will next face Franklin and Marshall, who are ranked third, on Wednesday.
