Gettysburg women’s basketball was almost perfect Saturday — a performance that put the Bullets previous loss in Baltimore against Johns Hopkins behind them. Nate Davis’ team was in control the whole way. After an early 3-3 deadlock, an 8-0 run put the Bullets up 11-3, and they never looked back. Jameson Mott ’27 led the way, draining five threes en route to an 18-point, six rebound, and three assist performance. She hit four three-pointers in the span of five minutes in the third quarter, which the Bullets as a whole dominated.
As usual, the Bullet starters AB Holsinger ’26, Alayna Arnolie ’26 and Shinya Lee ’25 put on an offensive clinic in the first half, leading 41-19 at the break. Arnolie had three triples, fresh off scoring her 1,000 point in the Bullets most recent home game. The Bullets spread the wealth in the first half, with seven players scoring points, including several on craft fast break passes. Arnolie found Emily Violante ’25 on a nifty breakaway, a microcosm of the Bullet attack, which created open shots all afternoon.
In the third quarter, Mott took over, shooting four threes in five minutes, sandwiched by layups from Lee and Violante. The Bullets continued to build the lead around threes from all over the floor, and when it became 71-30, Davis pulled the starters. Bullet depth has been on display all season, as underclassmen like Sarah Bertolette ’28 and Briana Robles ’28 were able to come in and make plays. The depth will serve the Bullets well this year and in future years when underclassmen grow into established starters.
After shooting over 60% in the second half, the Bullets and Coach Davis have to feel good going into the home stretch of conference play. They are tied with Johns Hopkins for first in the Centennial Conference, with each team’s lone loss coming on the road against each other. Gettysburg has four games remaining before trying for their fourth consecutive Centennial Conference Championship. Their depth and experience favor them, as do their four straight victories over Hopkins in the Centennial Conference Championship.
