On Wednesday, Gettysburg College President Bob Iuliano announced in an email to the campus community that the College would be expanding its Master’s degree program in American History from the Gettysburg College-Gilder Lehrman Institute (GLI). The program became known for being an affordable and flexible option while maintaining its quality.
Iuliano announced two expansions for the program, which is fully virtual. Beginning in Summer 2024, the college will expand the MA to instructors at community colleges.
Of this program, Iuliano stated, “At $750 per course and only 10 courses to a master’s degree, our MA program has been widely embraced by K-12 educators, district supervisors, librarians, museum professionals, and National Park Service employees associated with the GLI. Community college instructors will now have the opportunity to enroll and deepen their knowledge in this critical field of study.”
The second announcement was that the GLI will offer a new MA+15/30 program, specifically tailored to fit the needs of K-12 teachers who are currently holding a master’s degree. The program would allow them to take courses above their master’s level in a way that contributes to both professional development and salary advances.
Those eligible for the GLI’s MA in American History can apply on their website.
Iuliano expressed, “On behalf of Gettysburg College and our partners at the GLI, we are so pleased to build on the extraordinary success of our master’s program and make it accessible to even more of our nation’s dedicated teachers.”
