Campus Email Announces the Passing of Charlene Felton

By Sophie Lange, News Editor

Today, Gettysburg College President Bob Iuliano sent a campus-wide email regarding the passing of Charlene Felton. For 24 years, she was a member of the support staff in dining services at the College.

Of Felton, Iuliano said, “She joined our employee community when she was in high school and ultimately became a staple of our dining operations, most recently at the Bullet Hole. To all those who knew her well, she was defined by her strength, authenticity, and compassion.”

He asked that members of the campus community keep Felton’s two children, mother, aunt and loved ones in their thoughts.

During this time, Human Resources and Dining Services have coordinated on-site support for college employees through the WellSpan Employee Assistance Program (EAP). The email also detailed resources available to the members of the campus community, including:

  • WellSpan Employee Assistance Program at 1-800-673-2514 (employees)
  • Counseling and Wellness Services at counseling@gettysburg.edu or 717-337-6960 (students)
  • College Life, Cristina Garcia at cgarcia@gettysburg.edu or 717-337-6921 (students)
  • UWill Teletherapy at app.uwill.com (students)
  • Religious and Spiritual Life, Chaplain Bright at mbright@gettysburg.edu or 717-337-6282 (students and employees)

In closing, Iuliano expressed, “Charlene was committed to our students and the College in ways that made us a better community. We will sorely miss her.”
