House Rented by Gettysburg College Students Catches Fire

A building at 202 Carlisle Street caught fire late Monday night. The building is known to house members of Gettysburg College’s men’s lacrosse team. The building was uninhabited at the time of the fire.

According to reporting from the Gettysburg Times, emergency responders were dispatched around 11:57 p.m. Monday night to the corner of Carlisle and Water streets.  Responders included dozens of firefighters, Gettysburg College security personnel, several ambulances, Gettysburg Borough Police and the Adams County fire marshal.  The building is owned by Well Adjusted LLC and is then rented to college students.

A FOX43 article shared that a firefighter was injured during efforts to stop the fire. They were taken to the hospital, but their injuries were not life-threatening.
