Women’s Soccer Picks up Another Victory Over Non-Conference Opponent Lebanon Valley

By Max Ferguson, Contributing Writer

The Bullets women’s soccer team won their game against Lebanon Valley College in an electric 2-0 shutout victory. This game added to the Bullets now three-game win streak against Lebanon Valley. This victory puts the Bullets’ record at three wins, four losses, and one draw.

Carli Cameron ’26 had a standout game. The first-year forward led this games statline by firing off four shots, three of them being on goal. She scored her first collegiate goal in the 27th minute, finding the back of the net and spurring an excited roar from the crowd. Cameron also tallied an assist in the 58th minute when Grace Slevin ’23 scored Gettysburg’s second goal of the game.

Both halves of play had an unanswered goal from the Bullets. The first half was dominated by the Bullets, whose forwards and midfielders peppered the opposing keeper with seven shots. Likewise, the Bullet defense suffocated Lebanon Valley. The Flying Dutchmen could not get anywhere near the Bullets’ goal post without being met by an aggressive defense. Lebanon Valley only got one shot off in the first half.

The second half was more of the same. The Bullets were in control of the field with an  amped up offensive intensity that led them to ten more shots on goal. One of those shots hit their mark when Slevin scored in the 58th minute of the game, putting the Bullets up 2-0. Again, the Bullet defense made sure the ball was nowhere near their goal and only allowed Lebanon Valley to shoot once in the second half

An overall dominating win for the Bullets over Lebanon Valley on Wednesday was followed up by an equally lopsided victory for them a few days later on Saturday. The Bullets rolled past Centennial Conference opponent Bryn Mawr. The final score was 2-0, but looks can be deceiving – within the last twenty minutes, Gettysburg had three shots find the back of the net that were not scored as goals due to referee calls. Nonetheless, Elise Fox ’26 scored her first collegiate goal to put Gettysburg up early, and fellow defensewoman Jordan Weinberg ’25 followed up in the 74th minute with the Bullets second and final goal.

The women’s soccer team hopes to carry the momentum of their recent success into the rest of the season. They return to action away against Conference rival Johns Hopkins on Wednesday, Oct. 5 at 7 p.m.
