On Nov. 5, the International Club hosted a celebration for the Diwali Festival of Lights. The event took place in the CUB Ballroom from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.

Diwali, a religious and spiritual holiday spanning over five days, celebrates light over darkness, goodness over evil, and knowledge over ignorance. Lighting ceremonies at nighttime signify the victory of positives in everyday life outweighing the negatives.

For the first hour of the event, student hosts offered guests the option to receive Hennas. Hennas are body art made from the dying of the skin prepared from the Lawsonia inermis plant. The organizers also provided authentic Indian food.

Dipto Provas ʼ25 said that he watched his friend “design and draw a Henna for [him] on the spot.”
