Great Work from Home: Day 20

Welcome to the twentieth edition of our “Great Work from Home” daily bulletin, an initiative of The Gettysburgian during this season of social distancing. Each morning, we will present a curated playlist, a favorite Gettysburg campus photo, and hometown spotlight, each submitted by a different Gettysburgian.

This is a way to start our days together. We’ll present these features on Instagram, on our website, and, if you like, via email (see sign-up below). We’ll be reaching out to students, faculty members, and employees and asking them to share, and we invite you to do so too; find links to Google Forms for each of these recurring features at the bottom of the page.

As always, the most important part of this initiative is you. So tell us, what do you like? What don’t you like? What else would you like to see? Get in touch with the #GWFH team: editors@gettysburgian.com.

Also, please tell us how remote learning and working is affecting your day-to-day life. We would love to hear from new voices—students, staff, faculty, administrators, and friends of the college are welcome to fill out our form, and we’ll be in touch.

For now, we hope you enjoy today’s playlist, curated by Ben Pontz ’20, today’s campus photo, courtesy of Anna Benson ’23, and today’s hometown profile by Julia Chin ’21, who comes from Coral Springs, Florida.

Remember, you can take us out of Gettysburg, but you can’t take Gettysburg out of us!

“This is a photograph of the great palm trees of Florida outside my window where a paper crane sits. It was the first piece of origami I made with my host-family in Japan and it reminds me of my little brother Ibuki (8) and how much fun we had before I had to come home early!”
