DPS Crime Log: May 1-7, 2017

The Gettysburg College Department of Public Safety (DPS) reported the following incidents:

May 1

  • An incident where a student shoved another student that was classified as an assault/harassment/dating violence incident occurred in Hanson Hall; the incident was referred to the Office of Student Rights & Responsibilities (SRR).

May 4

  • A violation of the liquor laws (underage consumption) was reported by a campus security authority (CSA) in Hanson Hall; the incident was referred to SRR.
  • A violation of the liquor laws (underage consumption) was reported by a campus security authority (CSA) in Paul Hall; the incident was referred to SRR.
  • A drug possession violation (marijuana) occurred in Hanson Hall as per a CSA report; the incident was referred to SRR.

May 5

  • An incident of assault or harassment by communications occurred at the Jaeger Center (stemming from an incident on May 1); the case is being investigated by DPS.
  • A violation of the liquor laws (underage consumption) occurred outside in West Quad; the incident was referred to SRR.
  • An incident of underage consumption/public drunkenness was reported at the 7/11 store at 63 Chambersburg Street; Jean Van Buren ’19 was cited by Gettysburg Borough Police (GPD) for underage consumption and Michael Valenti ’19 was arrested by GPD for underage consumption/drunkenness.

May 6

  • A violation of the liquor laws (underage consumption) occurred at Paul Hall; the incident was referred to SRR.
  • A violation of the liquor laws (furnishing to minors/underage consumption) occurred at Musselman Hall; the incident was referred to SRR.
  • A violation of the liquor laws (underage consumption) occurred at Albaugh House; the incident was referred to SRR.
