It is a new semester and you are ready for the new beginning. Get a head start on your work this semester with help from Musselman Library’s Research Help Desk. Whether you need help identifying resources or citing a source, the friendly Peer Research Mentors and librarians are standing by, waiting to answer your questions!

Get a head start on your research project by scheduling a Research Appointment with a librarian. A Research Appointment lets you have an in-depth discussion with a research expert. The librarian knows your topic ahead of time, so she or he can prepare for your visit. In order to give you the best possible service, the librarians need at least 48 hours’ advance notice to prepare a Research Appointment. Visit http://www.gettysburg.edu./library/services/forms/rpc_request.dot today to make an appointment.

While Research Appointments are great for in-depth questions, you can also stop by the Research Help Desk at any time for those immediate questions or for help getting started on your research. The friendly folks at the desk can help you identify sources to kick-start your research.

For your citation needs, the Research Help Desk has a great collection of citation guides — MLA, Turabian, APA… you name it, we have it! You can even ask the librarian on duty about the cool online citation tools available that make formulating a bibliography a breeze. If it is too cold or snowy for you to make it to the library, try visiting the online Citation Guide at http://libguides.gettysburg.edu/citation.

Do not make the semester more difficult than it has to be – let the librarians and Peer Research Mentors at the Research Help Desk assist you!
