Dance like it’s 1863!

This coming Tuesday, April 2, Musselman Library will be hosting a Civil War Era Dance Workshop at 7 p.m. in the CUB Ballroom. This is a great way to experience the music, dance and social style of the period while having a lot of fun!

Instructors for the event are members of the Victorian Dance Ensemble, part of the performing troupe of the Civil War Dance Foundation. They will lead participants through a variety of easy dances. You do not have to bring a partner and no dance experience is necessary. For those wanting the total experience, feel free to wear period costumes (but it is not required). Light refreshments will be provided.

This event, sponsored by Friends of Musselman Library, is the culminating event in conjunction with the national traveling exhibition “Lincoln: The Constitution and the Civil War” which runs through April 4, 2013 at Musselman Library. There is no charge for admission. Funded by a grant from the National Endowment for the Humanities, the exhibition examines President Lincoln’s struggle to meet both the political and Constitutional challenges brought on by the Civil War. This exhibit was organized by the National Constitution Center and the American Library Association Public Programs Office.

We hope to see you there!
