The Bullets registered a convincing 18-9 win in their first Centennial Conference game against the previously undefeated Swarthmore Garnet at Clark Field on Sat., Mar. 23.

The Garnet opened the scoring three minutes and 40 seconds into the game when Isabela Bloomquist drove to the left side of the net and placed her shot in the back of the goal. They were able to keep the Bullets from scoring for most of the first quarter.

Gettysburg did not respond until there was 4:24 left in the first quarter. After drawing a foul, Ella Patterson ’27 passed it to Julia Daly ’26 following the restart, who came rushing in from behind the goal and slotted it past the goalkeeper for her seventh goal of the season.

Swarthmore took the lead again with a goal from Gillian Will 25 seconds into the second quarter, but from here, the Bullets went on a dominant run after having a slow offensive start.

Gettysburg scored nine unanswered goals before Bloomquist scored again from the free spot. The Bullets’ run was sparked by a goal from Jordan Basso ’24, her 12th of the season. Daly contributed three goals on the unanswered run, Julie Breedveld ’26 added two more, and Emily Crane ’25, Maddie Passarello ’26, and Lauren O’Connell ’25 each added goals of their own. Daly added one more after the Bloomquist goal with six seconds left in the quarter to put the Bullets up 11-3.

Michaela Kelly ’27 continued the run for the Bullets in the third quarter. With 11:50 left on the clock, she ran across the goal and scored through traffic to register her first goal of the season.

Basso added another for the Bullets two minutes later. Aubree Dougherty scored the Garnet’s fourth goal of the game from a free position shot to close out the scoring for the quarter.

Dougherty scored two more at the beginning of the fourth quarter, but the Bullets responded with goals from Caroline Sullivan ’24, Breedveld, O’Connell, Emily Crane, and her little sister Meghan Crane ’27. Bloomquist scored again to end the game, but it was too little too late, as the Bullets won 18-7 to move to 6-2 on the season.

Gettysburg outscored Ursinus in three out of four quarters to secure a 14-9 win in their first Centennial Conference game, a rainy matchup away from home on Sat., Mar. 23.

Ursinus opened the scoring less than three minutes into the game with a goal from Harry Switzer, but it did not take long for the Bullets to respond. Stokes Myers ’25 tied the game 46 seconds later from just under ten yards away. Less than a minute later, Quinton Mather ’24 lasered one into the back of the net to give the Bullets a 2-1 lead.

Jack Dunleavy ’25 scored two goals in three minutes to distance the Bullets further, but goals from Lars Homan and Drake Kasoff brought Ursinus back to a one-goal deficit. However, Jackson Hearn ’27 fired one into the back of the net from a tight angle to give the Bullets a 5-3 lead with just under two minutes left in the first quarter.

Gettysburg continued their form into the second quarter, scoring four goals and only allowing one. Mathers and Dunleavy each added one more and Patrick Maroney ’27 also got himself onto the scoresheet. The standout goal from the Bullets came with 11:09 left on the clock when Ryan Cernuto’s ’24 one-handed underhand shot made its way past the goalkeeper.

Ursinus made a push in the third quarter and scored three unanswered goals. Two of them came from Aidan Kirk, and Christopher Pucciarelli had the other. Maroney scored a buzzer-beater for the Bullets though to give the Orange and Blue a 10-7 lead.

Jonathan Singer brought the score to within two for Ursinus at the beginning of the fourth quarter, but Maroney returned the lead to three, as he scored his third goal of the game just under a minute later. Ethan Kessler ’26 and Myers scored goals within a minute of each other to extend the Gettysburg lead to five.

Dunleavy closed out the scoring for the game to give the Bullets a 14-9 victory and move them to 4-3 on the season.
