Monday, Sept. 10’s meeting of Student Senate flew by in half an hour. Without the ability to vote on budgets or policy changes before having quorum, which will begin when the first-year senators are added, the agenda was light for the body.

Follow along with the whole meeting with The Gettysburgian’s Facebook livestream:

Treasurer Haley Gluhanich ’19 announced that the estimated cost of the water bottle fillers was overestimated and the extra money will go towards putting machines in Stevens, Patrick, and Musselman Hall.

President Nick Arbaugh ’20 updated the room on the Presidential Search, and expressed his dismay over the lack of attendance at the last student forum. He went on to announce the committee chair appointments:

  • Sustainability – Nadine Snyder
  • Student Safety – Alex Xie
  • Public Relations – Kurtis Grey
  • CLAC – Elijah Fernandez
  • IT – Grace Wenzel
  • Diversity – Josh Gonzalez
  • Opinions – Kayla Julio
  • Academic – Katherine Cramer
  • Career Liaison – Garrett Goodwin

Arbaugh also encouraged senators to sign up to volunteer for the CUB Grand Opening, which will be held on Saturday, Sept. 15.

Student Senate elections for first-year senators will take place over the next week. The next Student Senate meeting will take place Sept. 17.
