The Majestic Announces Performance Schedule for Upcoming Season

By Kenzie Smith, Arts and Entertainment Editor

A “women in music” series is taking stage at the Majestic Theater in February 2025 and will run through April 2025. Three artists make up this series, which starts Feb. 13-15 with “The Other Mozart.” This piece was written and performed by Sylvia Milo narrating the widely-unknown story of Nannerl, Mozart’s older sister, who also performed throughout Europe and earned equal acclaim.

“Josephine: A Burlesque Cabaret Dream Play” takes stage March 20-23 with Tymisha Harris performing as Josephine Baker, the first African-American superstar. While Baker found most of her fame in Europe, she also had ties to advancing the Civil Rights Movement in the United States.

The final performance of this series is on April 11-12, highlighting stand-up comedian and Juilliard-trained violist Isabel Hagen. On the first night of her show, Hagen will host and headline a showcase of local music and comedy. On the second night, Hagen’s touring friends will join her, presenting both comedy and music.

The Majestic Theater said in a release that this series “[was] made possible thanks to the generosity of Kenneth and Elizabeth Lundeen and the Majestic Theater Centennial Endowment Fund.”

There will also be other performances outside of this series. Scheduled performances include BAM Percussion on Oct. 12 at 3 p.m.; “One Night in Memphis” on Oct. 25; Totem Pole Playhouse’s “A Christmas Carol” on Dec. 6-8 and 13-15; “Dancing With the Local Stars,” produced by the YWCA of Gettysburg Adams County and the Adams County Arts Council, on Jan. 10’ “Moutainfilm on Tour” on Jan. 24; “New Orleans Songbook: A Jazz at Lincoln Center” on Feb. 26 and “360 AllStars” on May 2, closing the season.

Two other special performances happening during this schedule include blues poet Nat Myers taking stage on Feb. 6 at 7:30 p.m., and Sara McDonald with NYChillharmonic performing their 18-piece progressive rock repertoire on March 1.

Tickets for these performances go on sale to the general public on Oct. 11.
