This week’s Bullet Shot Athlete of the Week is Senior Abby Baigelman. This year the Lady Bullet’s Lacrosse team, ranked number two in the preseason poll, returns one of its key contributors from a season ago.

Baigelman has improved her statistics in each of her first three seasons on the team. Last year, the talented senior finished with twenty-eight goals and thirteen assists in nineteen games, averaging over two points per game. It was her most efficient season as she converted over fifty-one percent of her shots into goals.

Baigelman is poised for another solid season and will look to build upon her already impressive career here for the Gettysburg Women’s Lacrosse team. This year Baigelman will look to, “Give everything [she] has since it is [her] last year.” An individual goal she has set out to achieve is to increase her goals and assists from previous years.

As far as for the Lady Bullets, Baigelman believes the sky is the limit as long as they, “trust in our ability in every game we play and leave everything on the field.”

Baigelman and the rest of the squad are looking to win the Centennial Conference and have their sights set on a trip to the final four. The Gettysburg College Lady Bullet’s hope to start out the season on the right foot on Saturday, Feb. 20 at Messiah. Look for Baigelman and the women’s lacrosse team all season as they try and make a run for the NCAA title.
