The Gettysburg College women’s swim team had an outstanding weekend against Swarthmore College. In their first meet since Dec. 5 the lady Bullets were able to capture a victory, 163-99 against their Centennial Conference opponents. Helping to lead the pack for the Bullets was Junior Caroline Moyer.

Moyer had a phenomenal weekend for Gettysburg with two individual victories, as well as being part of a winning relay. Her first victory of the day came in the 100-yard breaststroke. Gettysburg was able to go 1-3-4 in that event, with Moyer leading the way. She continued her winning streak with a victory in the 200-yard breaststroke.

Leading first-year Sadie Stiles, Moyer finished with a time of 2:29:83. Moyer has been leading the Gettysburg breaststrokers for most of the 2015-2016 season, capturing many individual victories in both the 100 and 200-yard events. Along with her individual wins, Moyer was part of the winning 200-yard medley relay for the Bullets.

She along with with sophomores Savannah Llewellyn, Nicole Farina, and Allie Mueller, clocked a time of 1:52:67, which was almost two seconds ahead of their nearest competitor. About the success of the weekend, Moyer said, “I think the team swam incredible this weekend because of the time and effort we have put into the season so far. We have really been pushing each other and motivating each other in practices.”

Caroline is a great leader and competitor for the lady Bullets and seems to be continuing to get better and better as the season progresses. Moyer and the rest of the Gettysburg team will be back in action Wednesday, Feb. 3 against Centennial Conference opponent Dickinson College. Congratulations to Moyer for being this week’s “Bullet of the Week!”
