This week’s Gettysburg Bullet Shot athlete in focus is Junior Cody Kiefer of the men’s basketball team. Kiefer is a native of Gettysburg and is enjoying a great all around season so far for the Bullets.

On the season Kiefer is averaging 12.6 points per game on 47.7% field goal percentage to go along with seven rebounds and 3.8 assists per contest.

This past week in wins over Muhlenberg and thirteenth ranked Franklin and Marshall, Kiefer had some great performances. In a balanced effort in which four Bullets players scored in double figures against Muhlenberg, Kiefer recorded a game high eighteen points making six out of ten shots from the field and two of four from beyond the arc.

Then in the next game against the Franklin and Marshall, Kiefer again scored in double figures with twelve points, going 2-3 from three-point range while also dishing out four assists. This was a big win for the Bullets over a highly ranked opponent.

Kiefer’s scoring is certainly noteworthy and he has the ability to go off like he did earlier in the season against Johns Hopkins when he notched a career high thirty-four points. However, scoring is not the only way Kiefer can impact the game as he is a threat to rebound with his size and can create openings for teammates with his vision.

Look for Kiefer to continue to be heavily involved as the Bullets build on their successful season. Congrats to Kiefer for being this week’s “Bullet of the Week.”
