The Gettysburg college women’s golf team rounded out its successful fall season with a win at the Gettysburg Tri-Match. Competing against Lebanon Valley College and Alvernia University, Gettysburg was able to capture the title with a seven-stroke lead.

Dominating Saturday’s match was junior Sarah Hanson, who shot a career best of 79. This was the first time she broke 80 in her Gettysburg career, which gave her a three shot lead over Megan Kimmel of Lebanon Valley. Hansen success comes as no surprise though, as she has won two other events this season alone.

Also competing for Gettysburg was junior Lynn Hatcher who also shot a career best, with an 88. Senior Kate Schwartz finished sixth with a 90, while first-year Gillian Marini finished the lineup with a tenth place finish and a score of 101.

Schwartz offered, “As a captain, I was really proud of the fact that it was reading days, people were tired, and yet we still got enough people to compete. We’re excited about the course and how it’s very promising for two of our veteran players to achieve their career low score at the course hosting the upcoming conferences.”
