The Gettysburg College women’s cross country team won the Cairn University Highlander Invitational this past Saturday. This was the teams first time this season competing on a 6K course, and the teams first time competing without their lead runner junior Amanda Asaro.

Many Bullets had to step up to fill the void left by Asaro, and one of these runners was none other than first-year athlete Sarah Rinehart. Rinehart led the Gettysburg women with a time of 23:39, placing third overall among 142 racers. It was a hot day and the course was rather hilly, but Rinehart demonstrated what it means to be a team player and get the job done.

Rinehart continues to transfer her skills and enthusiasm to the collegiate level, placing in the top three on the team at every meet thus far. She certainly has been the rookie of the season for the Gettysburg women’s cross country team, and for this Rinehart is this week’s “Bullet of the Week.”
