Poli-Sci department hosts noted political cartoonist

Noted political cartoonist and alumnus of the Gettysburg College class of 1988 Christopher Weyant will be returning to his alma mater for a book signing and a talk on Thursday, Sept. 18.

The events are being sponsored by the Gettysburg College Political Science Department.

Weyant’s book signing will take place from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. at Gettysburg’s Growing Place, 142 Constitution Avenue.

A talk with Weyant, “Behind the Ink,” will also take place on Thursday in Joseph Theater in Breidenbaugh Hall at 7:30 p.m.

Weyant frequently contributes his sharp political satire to The New Yorker magazine, among others.

He has also just illustrated his first children’s book, “You Are (Not) Small,” which was written by his wife Anna Kang and published in Aug. 2014 by Two Lions Press. His second book, “That is (Not) Mine,” is due out in 2015.

The political science department will host an- other talk on Oct. 17, entitled Eavesdropping Without Warrants: The Public Debate Over the National Security Agency’s Surveillance, also in Joseph Theater.
